In Harmony with Nature III: Photos by Donald M. Robinson
Powdermill Special Exhibits Gallery
Through December 31, 2008

For more than 50 years, Donald Robinson has taken viewers on a visual journey with his stunning landscapes and lush wildlife photography. From powerful portraits to intricate, intimate photographs of butterflies and flowers, Robinson explores the world’s wonders with his camera in tow.

In Harmony with Nature III: Photos by Donald M. Robinson presents 33 color photographs of Mr. Robinson’s western Pennsylvania nature photography.

Images by this internationally acclaimed photographer have portrayed the diversity of wildlife, flora, and landscape of six continents and more than 60 countries. Robinson’s approach to photography ranges from the pictorial to photojournalism and his images have universal appeal while they exhibit his mastery of the technical complexities of the medium.

In Harmony with Nature III, his first exhibition at Carnegie Museum of Natural History’s Powdermill Nature Reserve, focuses on seasonal landscapes in the Ligonier Valley and Pittsburgh areas.

Many of Robinson's photographs are part of the permanent collections of Carnegie Museum of Natural History; Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art, Loretto, PA; Burpee Museum of Natural History, Rockford, IL; Cleveland Museum of Natural History, Cornell Museum of Art and Natural History, Delray Beach, FL; Western Pennsylvania Conservancy and numerous private collections.
